A Storage Solution for SMW

As we’ve said before, the Polstore team loves a challenge… but there will occasionally be times when we’re not sure our systems can stretch that extra mile (and live up to our high-quality standards). One such time was working with our client SMW.

The main concern was the weight of the ISCAR boring heads they needed to store up to 23kg per head. We were unsure whether our systems would cope with the weight, especially given the high level of traffic throughout the workshop. Operating in a steel foundry environment, SMW also needed an additional layer of protection to keep tools and equipment clean and dirt free. To achieve this a roller shutter door was added to the drawer units.

The entire storage solution was brought to life with multilayer routed foam inserts. Using our new Trend CNC 3-axis router, we created a customised dual colour design which would make identifying the correct tool easier and quicker.
