Tool Storage Solutions for Auxitrol

Having invested in two new Mazak CNC turning machines, the team at Auxitrol recognised it was time for them to improve storage and asset control of their tooling. The amount of floor space required for the storage system was one challenge to overcome. The weight and variety of the tooling was another. The solution also needed to accommodate the handling of tooling from the allocated storage area to the machine.

To tackle the limited floor space, we introduced a universal shelving system. With a vertical height of 2.2m we were able to reduce the floor area used for storage. The shelving system used pull out drawers with individual drawer loads of 200kg. To safely store and secure the tools, larger items used tool holders, and in the shallower drawers, we fitted routed foam inserts to house Hainbuch clamping heads.
